Late Post: Tuesday MMS XC kicked off their season in Camden Point! Our athletes looked great! Bentley McDowell took first (boys) and Sadie Briner second (girls). Three other girls medaled as well! MMS represented well!!

MMS 8th grade students met members of the Maryville Fire Department at the stadium to remember the tragic events of 9/11. Thank you Chief Pine for putting this event together for our 8th graders.

On Friday, MMS hosted its annual "Buddy Pizza Party" to welcome new students to our district. This tradition helps ease nerves on the first day of school by giving new students a familiar face to look for. We hope they all love MMS like we do! Welcome!
MMS had a great open house and fall activities meeting! It was so good to have students and families back in the building! We will see everyone next Tuesday for the first day of school!

The regional Optimist Speech Contest was held this past Saturday. 2nd place: Tessa Mayne (MMS 7th). 3rd place: Faye Hornickel (MMS 6th). Tessa advances to state! Faye is the alternate. We are so proud of Tessa and Faye!

Today, MMS welcomed 200 guests into our building for our annual Leadership Day. It was a fantastic morning that highlighted the leadership skills of our students. This is the eleventh year MMS has been a Leader in Me school. Students learn to become great leaders at Maryville R-II!
Thanks to our wonderful staff for supporting this program and our students. A special thanks to Mrs. Nolte, Mrs. Webster, and Mrs. White for their hard work and preparation for today.
