Today, was one of our favorite days of the quarter, Midterm Read Day! Each quarter we pause at midterm and the whole school reads quietly for 30 minutes. Students, teachers, counselors, staff...everyone besides the principal taking pictures. 📸 Enjoy these snapshots!

🏃 Spoofhounds off and running! Our Maryville Middle School cross country team competed in its first meet of the season last night at Camden Point, with 7th and 8th grade boys and girls taking to the course. Every runner showed real grit in their season debut, and the boys posted some standout finishes: Logan Auffert placed 2nd and Jett Wyatt placed 4th in the mile, while Chase Creason finished 4th and Carson Rogers finished 5th in the two mile.
A strong start for the whole team, and just the beginning of the season. Come cheer them on at their next meet on Tuesday, September 22nd at Rosecrans Airport. Go Hounds! #MMSXC

🏐 Spoofhounds Middle School volleyball is underway! Tonight was our first 8th grade games of the season against St. Gregory's.
Our B team fought hard and grabbed the win. Way to go! 👏 Our A team battled through a tough one and came up just short, but they left it all on the court.
Proud of how every player competed tonight. This is just the beginning, let's go! 💪

History was made tonight as the first-ever Maryville Middle School softball team took the field and faced off against the Chillicothe Hornets! 🥎
We couldn’t be more proud of these athletes, and the coaches, who have worked so hard to prepare them for this moment.
While we came up just one run short, this team shows plenty of promise.
Tonight was just the beginning, and the future Hounds softball is bright! 🌞💚

The Hounds are back in action at the Hound Pound tomorrow night! 🏈
We’re expecting a BIG crowd. There will be a dedicated section for middle school students. This section will be located right next to the high school student section. Look for signs labeled youth section.
📣 Middle school students who are not sitting with their parents are asked to sit in this designated area.
Let’s pack the Hound Pound and bring the energy! 📢🏈🐾
GO HOUNDS!

MMS 🏈 hosted Savannah tonight to kick off their season at the Hound Pound! The Hounds came up short, but looked good. We are excited to watch their growth this season!

Important Reminder!

MMS students were greeted this morning by our MHS volleyball AND tennis teams! Thank you, Hounds, for bringing joy to a Tuesday morning! ❤️🖤
🏐 Tonight: MHS Volleyball takes on LeBlond at home!
🎾 Tomorrow: MHS Tennis hosts St. Pius X!
Make sure you get out there and show your support for our high school Hounds! 💚🐶🤍

Due to the forecasted heat, Tuesday's home middle school football games vs. Savannah have been pushed back an hour.
7th grade will start at 6:00, 8th grade immediately following.

🏈 A big thank you to our MHS football seniors for greeting our middle school students this morning! What a great way to start the day and build that Spoofhound spirit! 💚
Tonight is the home opener as our varsity football team takes on Pleasant Hill! We anticipate many of our younger students will be attending the game, and we’re excited to have them cheering on the Spoofhounds.
A friendly but important reminder: All children under 9th grade must remain seated in the stands or be with their parent/guardian. Younger students will not be allowed to run around the stadium.
Parents, please help us spread the word and remind your students before heading to the game. We appreciate your help in making tonight a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone!
Go Hounds! 🏈

📣 MMS Arrival & Dismissal Update!
MMS is excited to share that we have expanded our entrance to three lanes with the goal of alleviating congestion and making arrival and dismissal safer.
🚗 Right two lanes: Cars only
🚍 Left lane: Buses only
All car riders will be dropped off and picked up at the designated sidewalk in the East Lot, using the same process we have used for dismissal. This will keep the front circle open for school buses only.
Please share this information with anyone who will be driving your student to or from school. It is important that everyone follows the car line and ONLY drops off or picks up students at the designated sidewalk.
💚 Safety is our top priority!💛 Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and our traffic moving smoothly!

Mark your calendars! We will see you Thursday for our Open House.

I slipped out to the Nodaway County Fair cattle show today, and had the opportunity to watch some of our hardworking middle school students show their cattle.
The dedication, early mornings, and countless hours these students invest in caring for their livestock is truly impressive. Their commitment and work ethic are inspiring, and I couldn't be prouder of all they have accomplished. 🐄💙

The pop tabs collected by MMS students and staff last spring were delivered to the Ronald McDonald House of KC today. When I went inside and told the front desk I had more than would fit in their donation box they couldn't believe it.
It was filled once, and I could have filled it again!
Well done MMS!
Start saving the tabs this summer!
