Nurse Ramsey
Keeping your students healthy and safe is my priority. To accomplish this I need your help. Please notify me with any health changes throughout the year. Students must be fever, vomit, and diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school. If your student has Asthma, Seizures, Diabetes, or Sting/Food Allergy their action plan needs to be updated annually with their physicians signature. If your student requires daily medication it must be brought to the nurses office by a parent/guardian. I am available during school hours, Monday-Friday. Please feel free to contact me at 660-671-1520.

Medications:
The school nurse is happy to assist students who need medication at school. Most medications, even if needed 3 times a day, can be given at home. In the event a student needs medication at school, the medication must be in the original container labeled by the pharmacy or physician, and brought to school by an adult. Children are not allowed to carry medication at school, outside of carrying epinephrine, insulin and asthma inhalers. You may have the pharmacist prepare another container to be kept here at school. A permission form must also be filled out by the parent/guardian prior to medication administration. These forms are located at school or on the school nurse web site. The 1st dose of any medication will not be given at school. Any medications remaining at the end of the school year will be destroyed if not picked up by a parent or guardian.
Immunizations:
Missouri law requires that all students meet the immunization standards established by the Missouri Department of Health in order to attend school. Students in noncompliance with the immunization law will be excluded from school. In cases of exemptions from immunizations due to medical reactions, a physician statement must be on file with the school nurse. In cases of exemptions from immunizations due to religious beliefs, a parent/guardian must sign the Department of Health Exemption Form which will be kept in the student’s health record. Parents/guardians may go to the following web site for current Missouri school immunization requirements: http://health.mo.gov/living/wellness/immunizations/schoolrequirements.php
